The pace of global change; a world filled with disruptive technology; a customer base judging businesses on social responsibility and staff engagement; the increasing importance of user experience as well as quality of goods… The nature of a CEO’s challenges is changing.
Our Panel
Dhiraj Mukherjee – Co-Founder of Shazam & digital entrepreneur
Jason Tavaria – CEO and board level advisor
Nick Moreno – Director of Strategy and ‘challenger` board member, Arqiva Satellite & Media
Mira Magecha – Chief People Officer, Just Eat
In the first event in this series, we asked our expert panel to explore the changing face of the C-Suite itself. They discussed emerging and evolving role profiles, methods by which CEOs can build a collaborative culture and how a business can futureproof their C-Suite through ensuring a diverse pipeline of talent.
We heard about the importance of the inspirational CEO setting clear goals and how functional C-Suite roles must be broadened to remain relevant. We also learned about how creating new C-suite roles has the potential to enhance a leadership team or completely undermine it.
The need for CEOs to focus on values and behaviours more than skills and experience was examined at length – and practical ways CEOs can do this with their existing teams as well as during the identification of external talent.
Our panel cited fascinating first-hand experiences that demonstrated the risks inherent to a business that doesn’t ensure innovative thinking from a collaborative C-Suite; the positive impact of giving people the freedom to challenge each other’s ideas and the inspiration leadership teams can gain from interaction with groups they would never normally communicate with.
