Cinema attendance remains popular in the UK with advertising revenue fueled by consistent investment from film distributors, mobile operators, fmcg and automotive brands. That said, analysts suspect that proposed reductions in release periods to facilitate early dvd release will impact viewing figues.

Digital advances and the broad availability of mp3 technology has driven the rise in music downloads and the death of the CD. The sector continues to address the proliferation of file sharing which is currently causing declining revenues for both music and film distributors.

Sport sponsorship and talent management remains a lucrative industry despite current economic conditions. Networks, individuals and teams continue to secure lucrative media rights and marketing sponsorship, with associated licensed fashion and merchandise.
